The Periyar National Park offers its tourists a variety of birds for birdwatching. There are 320 different kinds of birds in the Periyar National Park which are enough to lure thousands of ornithologists and bird watchers to the park. Some of the birds that can be seen in the Park are:

| The Periyar lake attracts a large population of aquatic birds. Migratory birds also flock here during their season to visit the spot. For birdwatching in the park, it is better to be equipped with binoculars, telescopes and cameras. |
